IGG Software has announced iBank Mobile 1.1 for iPhone and iPod touch. iBank Mobile harnesses the power of the desktop version of iBank for Mac to check account balances, enter transactions and categorize expenses, even in foreign currencies. Designed to sync seamlessly with the full edition of iBank, iBank Mobile also works as a separate, stand-alone app for handheld finance management. Version 1.1 adds running balances to transactions, as well as several other enhancements and fixes.

“We deliberately kept iBank Mobile simple,” says IGG Chief Architect James Gillespie, “so it would do a few things and do them extremely well. That’s the platform we’ll be building on, and these are just the first of some changes that people have been asking to see.”

Originally available in July 2009, iBank Mobile was a number one-selling finance app on iTunes within a day of its release. A fully native application, iBank Mobile can be installed for stand-alone use to provide benefits such as checking account balances and updating finances on the fly. It also offers the ability to see recent totals across multiple accounts and to enter and categorize transactions in seconds, with intelligent autofill speeding entry even further.

Matrix Knowledge Management Pty Ltd today announced the launch of V Phone, a new application that lets iPhone users make VoIP calls and send SMS messages over IP. Rather than locking iPhone users into working with a single VoIP provider, it lets users choose between multiple providers of their choice for voice calling. With an intuitive, attractive user interface and simple installation, the V Phone makes it easy for anyone to save money and start getting more out of their mobile or cell phones.

Rather than locking iPhone users into working with a single VoIP provider, it lets users choose between multiple providers of their choice for voice calling. The V Phone nullifies the single provider protocol and lets users choose the most cost-effective provider for each task, a capability that is unique among such programs. In addition, the V Phone app is the first ‘open and configurable’ app to also offer SMS messaging over IP.

The V Phone’s SMS features offers two standard VoIP provider networks, as well as an option for entering the user’s own provider of choice. The app’s VoIP calling and text messaging options works with WiFi, allowing for convenient coverage without the need for a SIM card. Additionally, iPhone users can now make 3G/GPRS/HSDPA VoIP calls. With an intuitive, attractive graphical user interface and simple installation steps, the V Phone makes it easy for anyone to save money and start getting more out of their mobile or cell phones.

Matrix has submitted the app to Apple for approval and believes it should be available in the App Store within 2 to 3 weeks.

Sorty

media_1257428232035.png

syncRage today released Sorty 1.1, morphing two concepts to create new gaming excitement for iPhone and iPod Touch users. Although it has a basic concept that involves rapid relocation or chaining of colored balls, the speed and split second strategizing involved seems to be very pleasing to syncRage customers. Bejeweled and Tetris may have been the inspiration for Sorty but there’s nothing old school about the app.

syncRage owner, Enrico Falk, attributes the success of Sorty to a couple of different aspects of the application, “People like the idea of playing games that they know. In this case, they’ve been amped up and changed a little but that adds to a player’s excitement level. Sorty also has built-in global scoring, buddy challenging and Facebook Connect, which our customers seem to really appreciate”. With social media so much in demand, Falk’s decision to incorporate it into Sorty was likely a wise one.
